Description
The Karnage Lava Flow guitar is crafted with an Alder body, Maple and Spotted gum three part neck, with Maple fingerboard. The guitar features resin highlights in the body and fingerboard. It is loud and angry, with a savage body styling, Flat C to D profile neck, and a 12-16″ radiused fingerboard. All you need for metal and shredding.
The hardware is all black: the strap pins, the controls, the Gotoh GE1996T Floyd Rose bridge, the pickup rings and covers, and the Gotoh SG381 locking tuners on the black reverse headstock. The usual Floyd Rose locking nut is out the window as we are using the Graphtech Unlock nut to complement the locking tuner. This allow a stable tuning while using the trem aggressively, but still allows easy retunes to drop D or drop C.
The Karnage passive model uses Tonerider Firepower ceramic humbuckers for both neck and bridge, giving the output that loud, aggressive, angry sound when cranked up, yet a beautiful clear sound when used clean at lower volumes There is a volume control for each pickup, a single tone control, and a 3-way toggle for pickup selection – standard stuff. But the bonus is that the push pull volume volume controls give you a choice of single coil for either or both pickups, while the internal circuitry allows more consistent tone across different volume levels, and more consistent volume level at different tone settings by using a clever combination of treble bleed and greasebucket circuity.
A truly versatile guitar, it is made for metal and shredding, but is very nice for everything else.
